Rotorua is putting an effort into luring Maori Television to the city.
The service has invited proposals for its new headquarters once the lease on its Newmarket headquarters expires in 2017.
It has identified interest in Auckland, the Waikato or Bay of Plenty.
Rotorua Lakes Mayor Steve Chadwick says while her council won’t put in a bid, it will work with any local commercial property owners, developers or land owners who want to try.
She says MTS would bring jobs and contribute to the city’s growing Maori economy.
