Maori trade unionists want iwi to stand up for workers rights by refusing the do business with the ANZ bank until it settles its collective agreement fairy.
Syd Keepa, the Maori vice president of the Council of Trade Unions, says the bank made a profit last year of $1.7 billion last year for its foreign shareholders.
But he says it is refusing to share any of that with the workers who made it the most profitable bank in the country, and it’s targeting workers’ security of hours.
