Koha for kapa haka stalwart
The woman being investigated by the Serious Fraud Office over the running of performing arts and tourism courses has been given a $10,000 koha by Te Arawa Kapa Haka Charitable Trust.
Donna Grant resigned from the boards of Te Wananga o Awanuiarangi and the Warriors rugby league franchise after the wananga was forced to repay $5.9 million to the Tertiary Education Commission.
The commission discovered students had been graduated without the required hours being taught.
Rangitihi Pene, who is the trusts’s delegate to Te Matatini, told Te Arawa news weekly Mangai Nui the donation was a gesture of support for Grant and her whanau.
He says it wanted to stand by her for the good work she had done for Te Arawa and Maori across the country.
