Phone ettiquette lacking in Te Tai Tokerau
Labour’s new Te Tai Tokerau MP is not waiting by the phone for a concession from former MP Hone Harawira.
A judicial recount yesterday increased Kelvin Davis’ margin over the Mana leader by four votes.
He says the result is the result and it’s time for people to get on with their lives.
"I’ll tell you this story when I conceded to him in 2011 the phone was answered by one of his people and they abused me so I hung up and tried again half an hour or so, or an hour later, and the same person replied and gave me an other earful so I thought 'well stuff it' I'm not going to try a third time and get abused and so I never condeded to Hone in 2011 either – I never got the oppportunity to," he says.
