Tainui wary of court action
Waikato-Tainui executive chair Rahui Papa is refusing to comment on a new legal stoush with the former head of the tribal parliament.
Tania Martin was sacked from Te Kauhanganui in 2012, ending a two-year power struggle with the Te Arataura executive.
Now she has filed a legal action challenging the decision to remove her as chair and seeking reinstatement to Te Kauhanganui.
Mr Papa says the issue is now sub judice.
The dispute with Mrs Martin led to a review of tribal governance.
Te Kauhanganui and iwi members will vote next month on whether to adopt a new model.
