Grass roots concern drives candidate
Mana’s Te Tai Hauauru candidate says he’s attracted to the party by its committment to strugglers at the grass roots.
Jordan Winiata was a late entry into what is looking like a close race between the Maori Party’s Chris McKenzie and Labour’s Adrian Rurawhe.
Winiata has been part of Mana since leader Hone Harawira split from the Maori Party.
" It seems to me that a lot of Mana's policies, philosophies and values are all about where our people are at anyway my people are at so that's really what drove me to Mana in the first place and it's about Mana Aotearoa, Mana tangata, Mana whenua. All of those Maori values that we all hold to " he says.
