Mark bolsters NZ First line up
Ron Mark could be back for other term as a New Zealand First MP.
The Carterton mayor put his hand up yesterday as the party’s Wairarapa candidate.
The Stuff site says it’s seen a draft party list that puts him at 9.
That means the party would have to increase its vote slightly on 2011 for Mr Mark to resume the job he did between 1996 and 2008.
Mr Peters says with his military, business and local government background Mr Mark has a lot of real world experience.
"He has a good mind, lots of energy, real speaking talent, and he always had a good ear for what's going on and that's pretty important when you're in politics you have a sensitivity to the ordinary person's plight and hopes and aspirations. Ron's got that in heaps," he says.
Mr Peters says the offer to come back has always been there for Mr Mark, who first won the Carterton mayoralty in 2010.
