Healing manuscript wins award

A manuscript on Maori healing has won the unpublished category of the annual Ashton Wylie Charitable Trust Awards.
Co-authors Wiremu NiaNia, Allister Bush and David Epston will share $10,000 for Tataihono: Stories of Maori Healing and Psychiatry.
The convenor of judges, Bob Ross, says the work presents an important aspect of Maori culture and healing that needs to see the light of day.
He says the manuscript stood out as an extremely well compiled, revealing and enlightening piece of work, which included case studies that are tragic and compelling at the same time.
The premium Book Award was won by Sir Lloyd Geering for his book entitled From the Big Bang to God.
