Moana & the Tribe’s fifth album, RIMA, will be out next month, and as a taster the first single was released today.
Whole World’s Watching was co-written and produced by Moana Maniapoto and new band member Paddy Free of Pitch Black and Nga Tae fame.
Maniapoto describes it as a groove packed celebration of people power, inspired by watching a friend with a car full of kids fresh from school sports day driving off with a boot of hand-painted signs to a seabed mining protest.
The song incorporates the popular song Run Rabbit/Oma Rapeti, and was first played live at Womad NZ in March.
RIMA will be released on September 26.
