Innovation needed for whanau

The former chair of the Whanau Ora Governance Group has told providers innovation and making whanau central to everything they do will lead to success.
Sir Mason Durie addressed more than 300 representatives from provider groups at a conference to mark the launch of Te Pou Matakana, the North Island commissioning agency for the scheme.
He says a key challenge of the three commissioning agencies will be to support providers to become catalysts for change within whanau.
" Within a whanau-centred framework teams should work towards a common goal. Effective providers are innovative they are not on conventional approaches to social work or health services. They are innovative and it's the innovation that will create whanau who flourish " say Sir Mason Durie
