A Ngati Toa project to improve the quality of water flowing into Porirua Harbour has just got a $39,000 boost.
The money comes from a fine Porirua City Council had to pay the Wellington Regional Council following an incident where effluent was discharged from the Porirua Wastewater Treatment Plant last October.
The councils have agreed the money should remain in the community, so the full amount will go to the Takapuwahia Stream Restoration Project.
