Internet with Mana
Tai Tokerau MP Hone Harawira is to lead a Mana-Internet Party alliance into the election.
The alliance was confirmed by Mr Harawira and Internet Party chief executive Vikram Kumar at a press conference in parliament’s Maori affairs committee room this morning.
The parties will remain separate outside parliament.
Mr Harawira says the alliance has the overwhelming support of Mana members, and it would benefit from the resources of Internet Party founder Kim Dotcom and the technological innovation he can bring to the campaign.
If comes after several months of negotiation over policy arrangements and the Internet Party’s choice of leader.
As long as Mr Harawira retains his seat in the September 20 election, the combined list votes mean the alliance has a good chance of bringing other MPs into parliament.
