Wakatu takes a bite of Annie’s
Wakatu Incorporation’s food and wine subsidiary Kono has bought natural fruit bar manufacturer Annie’s Marlborough, which was in receivership.
Kono chief executive Don Everitt says Annie’s fits well with the range of food and beverage brands the company already own, such as Tohu and Aronui wines.
He says there are some great export opportunities for Annie’s bars.
Kono employs more than 350 staff and exports its wine, fruit and seafood to more than 25 countries.
