Sykes lists Dotcom gaps

Mana president Annette Sykes wants to see more of Kim Dotcom’s cards before she will commit to an alliance with his Internet Party.
The Megaupload magnate addressed Mana’s annual meeting in Rotorua on the weekend about the benefits of joining the Internet Party’s potential list vote harvest with Hone Harawira’s prospects of retaining Te Tai Tokerau.
Ms Sykes says there were significant gaps in the speech which will need to be filled before an alliance is possible.
"They’re all virtual membership at this stage and yet I saw 700 of them hanging out at his pool party. We don’t know who his likely line-up is going to be, and that’s unacceptable in modern democracies to actually hold you breath and trust the force, and the third thing is while I was very impressed with his responses to some of our questions on his policy platforms, we don’t know in specific detail if that is the same policy to be promoted by the Internet Party," she says.
Annette Sykes says she is still not sure if Kim Dotcom is truly committed to social justice or if he is actually a neoliberal thinker.
But she says Mana members know what it is like to be labelled haters and wreckers, so they will be ignoring the labels put on the German entrepreneur by politicians and media.
