Labour questions broadcast repeat

Labour’s broadcasting spokesperson is accusing Maori Television board chair Georgina te Heuheu of making a second attempt to install a friend at the helm of the Maori broadcaster.
Kris Faafoi says former TVNZ executive Paora Maxwell is back in the frame, despite a staff revolt at Maori Television that led to the selection process being aborted last year.
He says responsible ministers Bill English and Pita Sharples seem to have lost control of the situation.
Mrs te Heuheu says the board is in the final stages of recruiting a new chief executive, but no formal offer has yet been made to the preferred candidate.
