Rushed royal visit nixed

There’s to be no royal kapa haka sprint for the royal baby.
King Tuheitia turned down an opportunity to host the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George when the family is in Aotearoa next month.
Prime Minister John Key says while he thought the 90 minutes allotted in the schedule for Prince William and Kate Middleton to visit Turangawaewae marae in Ngaruawahia was quite generous, the king’s representatives felt the visit would be too rushed.
It’s expected there will be a powhiri for the royal family in Wellington.
