IronMaoi burns off Nelson flab
The South Island has discovered the IronMaori phenomenon.
About 100 competitors lined up for the first Nelson IronMaori at the weekend, biking, running and swimming their way around the course.
Organiser Heather Te Au-Skipworth says with the original Hawkes Bay event now capped at 2500 entries, the triathlon needs to spread out to meet demand.
While it’s pitched as an even for Maori as a way to address health and weight problems, all ethnicities are welcome.
