Dame June Mariu appointed hauora patron

Maori Women’s Welfare League past president Dame June Mariu has been appointed by King Tuheitia as the patron for Maori public health provider Hapai Te Hauora.
Chief executive Lance Norman says the appointment is about improving Maori ownership of gains in Maori health.
Dame June will advise the king so he can consider Maori health priorities at his events and in his circle of influence.
Mr Norman says Hapai Te Hauora has had 18 years of improving health for Maori by enabling Maori communities to have a say on their health and wellbeing.
