Mana leader Hone Harawira says he will back David Tua's entry into politics, whatever party he joins.
Since quitting the boxing ring, for former world heavyweight title contender has talked with both the Maori Party and Mana.
Mr Harawira says he will be a valuable asset to whoever he goes with, but he needs to be comfortable with his choice.
"Mana will support him in whatever his decision is, whether he decides to go with any other political party. I personally am always going to support him because I've got great love for that guy and for the role modeling that he's been able to achieve in his time as a sportsman. He has an aura about him he has an ability I think that is going to be able to connect with all kinds of people across the spectrum. Absolutely he'll win heaps of votes but he's more than that, he's a man," Mr Harawira says.
