Biggest crop yet of Raukawa graduates

Te Wananga o Raukawa will have its largest ever graduation tomorrow.
Te Amokapua or chairperson Robin Hapi says the Otaki-based has set standards for excellence in the transmission of matauranga Maori.
He says any of its graduates will attest to how staunch it is in the pursuit of kaupapa Maori and tikanga Maori, and it seems to be getting better.
"Not only this year have we got the greatest numbers but also the greatest numbers of people who have graduated at the masters level which is a great achievement for such a small and focused wananga and tertiary institution here in New Zealand," Mr Hapi says.
The graduation ceremony at the Otaki campus starts tomorrow morning with the sounding of putatara, karanga and a haka powhiri, and continues throughout the day until a hakari in the evening.
