First Tainui MBAs graduate

The first Masters of Business Administration graduates from the Waikato-Tainui College for Research and Development will receive their degrees today.
The 19 students will receive their degree in front of whanau and invited guests at a special ceremony at the campus at Hopuhopu.
Academic director Dr Sarah-Jane Tiakiwai says it is the first degree delivered by the college under a Memorandum of Understanding with Waikato University.
The programme promoted indigenous ways of doing business, and combined academic teaching with traditional Maori ways of learning.
The uniqueness of the programme was recognised internationally when it was awarded the inaugural MBA Innovation Award from the London-based Association of MBAs (AMBA) in 2011.
