New directors to grow Aotearoa Fisheries
Iwi shareholders in Aotearoa Fisheries will be hoping new directors can help the pan-Maori company get back on course.
Merchant banker Anthony Hannon and former Deep Cover Fisheries chief executive Liz Ward of Ngati Porou have been appointed for three year terms.
Auckland-based consultant Alan Gourdie, a former head of Telecom New Zealand Retail, was for appointed two years.
Te Ohu Kaimoana chair Matiu Rei said the Maori fisheries settlement trust wants directors who grow the company.
Aotearoa Fisheries' profits for the most recent half year were down $10 million to $7 million because of the losses made by Sealord, in which it has a 50 percent stake, incurred quitting its South American business.
