Mayor wants more Maori design concepts for the capital
Wellington mayor Celia Wade-Brown wants more Maori design concepts incorporated into the Wellington landscape.
For her second term, Ms Wade-Brown says the capital can reflect more of a Maori vibe.
"I'd also like to see more design elements incorporated into both our housing and our public buildings that actually make a bit of a statement about tikanga Maori design toi Maori that say that we're actually in Te Upoko O Te Ika A Maui," she says.
Celia Wade-Brown says she will also push for papakainga developments that create affordable communal living areas.
