Atamira honouring the Maori artists

It’s a weekend to celebrate the best in Maori arts, culture and food, at Atamira Maori in the City on Auckland’s waterfront.
More than 100,000 visitors are expected to pass through the event at The Cloud and Shed 12.
It started today and goes until Sunday.
Director Alec Hawke from Ngati Whatua o Orakei says it’s free, but it’s a good idea to bring your wallet.
"It’s amazing the amount of talent that is out there. Just go around the corner and you see another Maori family doing kete and another one doing glass and Atamira brings out that Maori talent. It’s a time for us to honour those people by buying a taonga from our artisans and stallholders," he says.
