The Court of Appeal is considering an action by Ngāti Rangitihi over ownership of the lines company in its rohe.

The iwi’s case is being funded by Marlborough Lines, which wants to increase its stake in Horizon Energy.

Ngāti Rangitihi also wants to buy shares in the company.

It is arguing that Eastern Bay Energy Trust is only allowed by its trust deed to own 25 percent of Horizon, not the 77 percent it owns.
