ASB and Poutama launch land scholarship
ASB bank has teamed up with Māori business development agency Poutama Trust to provide four scholarships for Māori considering farming careers.
Poutama Chief Executive Richard Jones says Māori own an estimated $6 billion in land-based assets.
He says the scholarships are a way to build a pathway into farming for the young Māori who will one day be the future of this industry.
The scholarships are for courses based at the Wairarapa-based Taratahi Agricultural Training Centre, which is the country’s biggest agricultural training centre.
