Rangitihi picks CEO for future growth

Bay of Plenty iwi Ngāti Rangitihi has appointed an experienced director and environmental advisor to run its proposed post settlement trust.
Anthony Olsen is a member of the Bay of Plenty Regional Economic Development Partnership and a former chair of the East Coast Bay of Plenty Conservation Board.
Graham Pryor, the chair of Te Mana ō Ngāti Rangitihi Trust, says Mr Olsen has Ngāti Rangitihi whakapapa and has worked extensively on environmental issues.
A key part of the iwi’s strategic plan is for the trust to regain its place as kaitiaki over Ngāti Rangitihi traditional tāonga including maunga, whenua, moana and awa.
The new chief executive will also implement the iwi education and te reo strategies.
Te Mana ō Ngāti Rangitihi Trust is seeking a mandate to represent the iwi in comprehensive settlement negotiations.
