Reminder for Ikaroa-Rāwhiti voters
The Electoral Commission is sending more than 32,000 EasyVote packs to voters in Ikaroa-Rāwhiti.
Parties are concerned there could be a low turn-out in the June 29 by-election to fill the seat left vacant by the death of Labour’s Parekura Horomia.
Each EasyVote pack contains the voter’s personalised EasyVote card, the list of candidates, the location and opening hours of polling places, and advance voting details.
Chief Electoral Officer Robert Peden says the EasyVote card makes voting faster and easier, but people can still vote if they don’t have the card with them.
If people don’t receive an EasyVote pack, they may not be enrolled.
The last day for enrolments is Friday 28 June.
