Spat over Maori training funds

The Mana and Māori Parties are scrapping over how much is being spent on Māori trade training.
Mana’s Ikaroa candidate, Te Hamua Nikora, claims there is only $3 million in the budget for trades training schemes and cadet-ships for Māori, and it’s not new money.
But Māori Party co-leader, Tariana Turia, says Mr Nikora can’t read a budget, and there is $43 million committed to expand Māori and Pasifika trades training to 3000 places.
Another $4 million is going in to cadetships.
She says Mr Nikora is deliberately misleading people and playing on their emotions.
E hia te rahi o te puutea kai te utua ki nga mahi a rehe araa trade training?
