New editors for MAI Journal
A ground breaking Māori academic journal has new editors.
Victoria University senior lecturer Maria Bargh and Massey University Associate Professor Helen Moewaka Barnes have taken over responsibility for MAI Journal: A New Zealand Journal of Indigenous Scholarship, which is put out by the centre for Māori research excellence, Ngā Pae ō te Maramatanga.
Professor Mike Walker, who co-edited MAI with Dr Tracey McIntosh, says to grow the journal needs editors who can make it their primary focus.
Dr Bargh says MAI is unique in that while it is a New Zealand journal it acknowledges connections with other indigenous peoples.
The Journal plays an important role in disseminating Māori scholarship.
