Atamira to play top dance festival
Māori dance troupe Atamira has been invited to perform at the prestigious Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in the United States.
The summer festival in western Massachusetts has been going for 80 years and attracts an audience of up to 80,000.
It will perform a preview of Moss Patterson’s new full length work Moko as well as the shorter pieces Haka and Indigenarchy.
The appearance will be the climax of a short US tour that takes in Hawaii, San Francisco and New York.
Next month Atamira will be presenting its Kaha 2013 programme in Hawkes Bay, New Plymouth and Hamilton.
