Te Arawa seeks master chefs
Te Arawa wants to find which of its marae has the best kai.
The second annual Te Arawa Tangata Marae Master Chef competition will be held on May 4 and 5 at Taheke Marae in Okere Falls, which was last year’s winner.
Teams must gather fish and game and then cook it.
Aneta Morgan from Te Pūmautanga ō Te Arawa says there are also prizes for the best Māori bread, cake, biscuit, jam, fruit preserves and steamed pudding, as well as a special Māori kai section.
