Mt Zion rocks Aussie box office
Mt Zion has crossed the Tasman.
The film about a band of Pukekohe potato pickers who dream of playing support for Bob Marley’s 1979 New Zealand concert earned A$101,000 in its opening weekend, the second highest screen average for all films showing over the weekend.
The wet weekend at home may have helped boost the New Zealand box office by 6 percent on the previous weekend, taking the New Zealand total to $1.2 million in six weeks.
That puts the film, which starts Stan Walker and Temuera Morrison, into the top 15 all time New Zealand films at the box office.
