Lakes Trust keen to get Te Arawa wealth working

Te Arawa Lakes Trust is looking for ways for other Te Arawa organisations and land trusts to co-invest with it.
Chair Toby Curtis says the trust’s annual meeting on Sunday gave the go ahead to continue looking for ways to bring the iwi’s multitude of organisations together.
He says there is a lot of money tied up in the iwi which is not being invested for the benefit of hapū and whānau.
“There are land trusts that have millions of dollars which they are not investing. We want to help them invest because it’s a risk. By working with us and working together, we will help them to have the experience of investing wisely,” he says.
Toby Curtis says now that the set up process for Te Arawa Lakes Trust is completed, its commercial arm has been laying the foundation to increase investment returns.
