Cameras to start rolling for road movie

As Mt Zion breaks the million dollar barrier, another movie about Māori and music is heading into production.
Writer and director Himiona Grace says The Pa Boys, a road movie about a three-piece band’s tour of small town pubs on the East Coast and Northland, will start shooting in May.
It’s being developed with help from Māori film development agency Te Paepae Ataata.
Boy producer Ainsley Gardiner is again handling the business side, Warren Maxwell is writing the music, and Keisha Castle-Hughes has been cast to ensure it’s not just a bromance.
Mt Zion, which stars Temuera Morrison and Stan Walker, has now earned more than $1.2 million at the box office, although it has slipped down to the ninth most viewed film.
