Aotearoa Sounds out for world audience

Some of the best of New Zealand’s indigenous music will be on display to the world in Auckland this weekend.
Sounds Aotearoa and the Auckland Festival are holding an expo and seminar at the Aotea Centre, including performances from acts like Maisey Rika, Ria Hall, Will Crummer and the Rarotongans and Moana and the Tribe.
Sounds Aotearoa Creative Director Emere Wano says producers and event directors from around the world are looking for something a bit different.
She says it’s hard for New Zealand acts to get to showcases overseas, so it made sense to bring people here.
The ticket for Sunday and Monday’s Sounds Aotearoa expo includes entry into the speaker seminars and the music showcases.
Radio Waatea will be broadcasting from the venue on Sunday 10th March from 12.30pm and Monday 11th March from 2.30pm.
