Chauvel UN posting boosts Davis

Former Labour list MP is one step close to getting back into Parliament.
Today's resignation of MP Charles Chauvel to take up a job with the United Nations in New York means another former MP, Carol Beaumont, can pack her bags back to Wellington.
Mr Davis, who has been doing consulting work since the election, is next on the list after her.
Mr Chauvel will work for the UN Development Programme as an advisor on Parliamentary Development and Democratic Governance but he says the organisation's head, former Prime Minister Helen Clark, was not involved in his election.
