Parole chance for Urewera Four member

Urewera Four member Te Rangikaiwhiria Kemara should find out today whether he can get out of jail early.
Last week the Parole Board ruled that his fellow-accused Tame Iti was not a threat to the community and could go back to his family on February 27.
In May the High Court sentenced the pair to 30 months in jail for weapons charges arising from what the judge said were paramilitary training camps near Ruatoki in 2007.
Kemara is in Springhill Prison, South of Auckland, which he says has given him a stark lesson in how the criminal justice system is failing Māori.
He's keen to get back to his Ngāti Rereahu people near Bennydale to work on a reforestation project that raises awareness of the food and medicine potential of native plants.
