Whanganui health service coming together for whanau ora
Whanganui's Te Oranganui Iwi Health Authority wants to get all its 125 staff into the same building.
Recently-appointed chief executive Nancy Tuaine says it currently has five branches and an administration office.
She says by moving everything to the Tupoho Community Complex in Campbell St, it can improve communication and accelerate the shift to the Whanau Ora model, where it deals with whole family groups rather than individuals in isolation.
Te Oranganui runs a primary health clinic, a mental health and addiction service and a disability support service, general health education and family start.
Ms Tuaine says the aim is to complete the shift by September.
