Mt Zion Takes Off At Box Office
Mt Zion is off to a great start, with Te Arepa Kahi’s film of a Pukekohe potato picker with dreams of stardom taking in $200,000 on its opening 50-screen launch.
That put it behind only Sione’s 2: Unfinished Business in the record for biggest opening.
Temuera Morrison, who plays the father of the character played by Stan Walker, says it’s been a great experience.
“This screenplay came off the page very well to a bit of magic, a bit of wairua slipped into the camera. These movies come in once in a blue moon. I’m very humbled that Te Arepa Kahi offered me the part. It’s my first koroheke role”. Temuera Morrison says.
