Kidney disease tests health system

A retiring Christchurch kidney specialist is warning that New Zealand's health system will need to find new ways of dealing with the growing number of people with kidney disease.
Professor Kelvin Lynn says increasing rates of diabetes, especially among Māori and Pacific Island people, is leading to more kidney failure.
He says while diabetes was often seen as being caused by people being lazy or having the wrong diet, the causes were much more complex.
