MP a fan of king’s acumen

Support for King Tuheitia is coming from Labour Māori affairs spokesperson Parekura Horomia.
The king is under fire from some quarters for his intervention in Waikato-Tainui's leadership struggle, posting an open letter to the tribe criticising infighting and calling for change at the top.
Te Kauhanganui Chair Tania Martin was stripped of her seat by the parliament on Sunday, and members of the executive board will face up to the tribe at the annual meeting on 8th of December.
The Ikaroa-Rawhiti MP says without making a judgment of the merits of the king's latest action, he is a great man with many of the skills of his late mother.
"In my mind it's a whole lot of groupings scrambling around him. I know king Tuheitia has a good heart, a good mind, and I hope they get through half of the rubbish that is going on and get on with the business," Mr Horomia says.
