The Auckland Council has reversed its decision to keep the Independent Māori Statutory Board from participating in setting the city’s budget.
At a heated session yesterday, the council voted to refer the annual plan to the strategy and finance committee, as is usually the cased.
Councilor Cathy Casey was forced to apologise to councilor Christine Fletcher after accusing the right-leaning Communities & Residents ticket of being racist over the issue.
