Talent spotting trust celebrates 25 years
Rotorua’s Te Waiariki Purea Trust is celebrating 25 years of fostering young Maori talent.
Founder and Chairperson John Chadwick say the trust now oversees youth services, strengthening family initiatives, outdoor education and family violence programmes.
It also trains youth workers.
He says it has become a significant employer and brings a large amount of money into the Rotorua economy.
The trust held a hui for past and present staff and students at Tangatarua Marae to mark the occasion, where it also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Waiariki Institute of Technology to work on future programmes.
