Health innovation sought
Associate Health Minister Tariana Turia is looking to fund Maori providers who are developing new approaches to health service delivery.
She has called for registration of interests for Te Kakano: Seeding Innovation fund.
That’s part of Te Ao Auahatanga Hauora Maori Fund, which was set up in 2009 to back positive Maori approaches that improve Maori health outcomes.
It has $20 million to spend over the next four years, and Mrs Turia says a priority for the round will be better child health.
An application process will be run next July for the two other funding streams, which are about sharing and spreading innovation.
Applications for Te Kakano money close on November 8.
