Wananga CEO asked to reapply
There could be a change coming at the top of the country’s largest Maori tertiary institution, with Te Wananga o Aotearoa advertising for chief executive.
Incumbent Bentham Ohia, whose five-year contract is up next June, hasn’t indicated whether he will reapply.
Richard Batley, the wananga chair, says the decision to re-advertise should not detract from the good work done by Mr Ohia, who stepped in as interim CEO in 2005 after founder Rongo Wetere stepped down.
